Part 1 of 10 in the “Be Battle Ready” Series
Read Ephesians 6:10-20
A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Ephesians 6:10 (NLT)
Are you a Battle Ready Christian? Over the next several days, our weekday devotions will focus on the Armor of God found in Paul’s letter to the Ephesians. This letter was written by Paul while he was on trial in Rome. All through the epistle, Paul explains the “spiritual blessings” found in Christ (Eph 1:3). These spiritual blessings in Christ have practical applications for our life.
In Ephesians 6:10, Paul gives a “final word” about being a Battle Ready Christian. He commands the Christians to be “strong in the Lord.” Much like, how Romans soldiers of his day that had the backing of an earthly empire, Christians have the support of a heavenly kingdom. Our King, Jesus Christ, has won the battle for us and given all the resources to live in victory. We must stand firmly by faith in his “mighty power.” In the spiritual battles of everyday life, believers have the high ground. We are fighting from a position of victory!
Suggestions for Prayer:
Thank God for the victory given by Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection. Ask Him for the strength to face your everyday battles. Ask Him to prepare you to be a Battle Ready Christian.
