In fourteen days, I’ll clip into my pedals and begin a 300-mile journey from Fort Myers to Key West. I’m embarking on a five-day cycling journey to the Florida Keys to raise money for youth in Bulgaria. Want to follow along?
This ride is in partnership with Ends Adventures (formerly Ends of the Earth Cycling), a ministry of New International Missions. All the proceeds benefit youth missions in Bulgaria through a partner ministry called Josiah Venture. Since launching my campaign several weeks ago, I’ve pedaled over 200 miles to prepare for the tour and raised just under $1,200 through generous donors. This money, through Josiah Venture, helps equip local congregations in Bulgaria to reach the next generation for the kingdom of God.
I remember sitting with two friends at my first Bikes and Bibles fun ride, sharing my dream to start “As You Go Cycling”—a ministry that would use cycling to further God’s kingdom. At the time, I had just challenged my local congregation with the 316-Mile Challenge for the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering. All I wanted was to use my bike to glorify God locally.

But God had bigger plans. He’s opened doors I never imagined, connecting me with Ends Adventures and giving me opportunities to support international missions through cycling. I can’t believe how He’s taken this passion and expanded it beyond my backyard. The Key West ride is proof that “As You Go Cycling” is becoming a reality, and I have a feeling this partnership with Ends Adventures is only the beginning of a long relationship.

Here is a breakdown of the Key West Bike Ride:
Pre-Ride Day: Thursday, February 26th
Nick Haner, the Director of Ends Cycling, has invited me to attend the 50th State Gala to celebrate the ministry putting wheels in all 50 states.
Day 0: Friday, February 27th
I’ll arrive at Christ Community Church in Fort Myers for ride orientation. We will check in, meet fellow riders, go over safety details, pray together, and make final adjustments to our bikes. This is where preparation becomes reality and the anticipation begins to build.
Day 1: Saturday, February 28th
77 miles | Fort Myers to Everglades City We’ll be sent off at 8:00 a.m. and head south through the wide-open roads of southwest Florida. The first day is about finding rhythm and settling into cadence. Long, flat stretches will test patience and consistency as we make our way toward Everglades City. It is the first real step of a much bigger journey.
Day 2: Sunday, March 1st
65 miles with a 100-mile option | Everglades City to Homestead This leg carries us across some of the most remote portions of the route. Wind can be a factor, and mental focus becomes just as important as physical strength. Those who choose the 100-mile option will push even deeper into endurance territory. It will be a day that rewards perseverance more than speed.
Day 3: Monday, March 2nd
49 miles | Homestead to Islamorada We enter the Florida Keys. Bridges begin to rise on the horizon and the scenery shifts dramatically. Water appears on both sides of the road. There is something energizing about this transition as the destination begins to feel closer and more real.
Day 4: Tuesday, March 3rd
33 miles | Islamorada to Marathon This is a shorter day in mileage but one of the most scenic stretches of the ride. We will pedal portions of the Overseas Highway surrounded by open water and endless sky. These miles remind you why cycling is such a gift. Steady effort. Wind in your face. Horizon ahead.
Day 5: Wednesday, March 4th
52 miles | Marathon to Key West The final leg of the tour. One more sunrise. One more bridge. One more steady push toward Key West. These last 52 miles represent weeks of preparation, generous support, and a shared mission. Rolling into Key West will not just mark the end of a ride, but the celebration of what God has done through this journey.
Day 6: Thursday, March 5th
We will be transported back to Fort Myers tired, grateful, and celebrating the impact of the week.
